A World Without Us

This project attempts to capture the contrasting elements between the untouched and touched nature of human destruction and what it left behind due to that. This first project shows the untouched nature aspect through sensory-driven installation to capture the essence of untouched prehistoric nature before human interference. The visual experience is shown through images of four prehistoric organisms broken down into looped animations of their colour schemes through water and projected on tulle hanging from the ceiling shaped like the organism it’s attempting to represent. A sunset lamp is projected on the installation to represent the sun. The smell component is presented on the cutouts of the organisms, based on what they would be predicted to smell like from research about the individual species. The auditory experience is played throughout the installation, focusing on capturing the vibrations of plants and animals and steering away from literal interpretations of nature.
