A World With Us

This project attempts to capture the contrasting elements between the untouched and touched nature of human destruction and what it left behind due to that. This first project shows the untouched nature aspect through sensory-driven installation to capture the essence of untouched prehistoric nature before human interference. The visual experience is shown through corrupted visuals of popular advertisements, recognizable through its colour schemes, which are all fractured and glitched. Instead of hanging cutouts, there will be broken mirrors to show a reflection of the audience walking through it, but also a reflection of everything around it. The additional light will be a fluorescent blue light to show our obsession with interrupting the sun's cycle to be productive late into the night. The ground will have garbage from around Toronto, which will also provide the smell component of the installation. There will be additional artificial good and bad smells added to the trash. To force audiences to walk through my project, there will be charred footprints that guide people to walk through the installation. The audio will have corrupted sounds of nature that are overpowered by sounds of cars, advertisements, people talking/walking, and life in a city like Toronto.
