Drowning in Light
Project type
Portrait
Date
March 2025
Location
Oakville
Through a veil of light and texture, this photoshoot explores the experience of being consumed by passion—one that feels inescapable yet undefined. Inspired by the idea of seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses, the series captures a state of emotional entrapment, where clarity is elusive, and the only choice is to keep moving forward. Using dual and mono lighting techniques, fabric textures are brought to life, while reflections on moving water create the sensation of drowning in emotion. The installation and lighting work in tandem yet stand apart, offering multiple perspectives on the same feeling—an intoxicating yet uncertain existence suspended between desire and disorientation.
